This is what you see when you drive in.....
This is my favorite room in the house, from the fireplace and china cabinet to the beautiful floors.
Look at this built in China cabinet and the owner has many beautiful antique pieces to set it off.
The kitchen is the first room to great you when you step in the back door. There is a wood stove to warm the room up and through the door you see is a neat storage room when the wood is all stacked and ready to go.
This is the formal front sitting room. Once again a fireplace, beautiful wide pine floors and being on the south side the sunshine is just lovely. The windows shimmer, like only old windows can.
This sweet door leads to the basement...There is a row of windows on the south side, I can picture geraniums wintering over or seedlings being started, oh the possibilities. This would be the next best thing to a greenhouse, my hearts desire.
This is the fireplace and french doors located in the first floor bedroom..There is a full bath on the first floor too.
The home office contains one of the original windows in the home. Can't you just see yourself writing your blog from here?
The bathroom has been updated, but with the good taste to make it blend in with the homes many original features...notice the little can on the bottom shelf.
This funky little fireplace is in one of the bedrooms....the owners think someone may have stolen the mantle when the home was empty...before they bought it.
One of the bedrooms.
Pretty double windows overlooking the private backyard.
This quaint fireplace is in the Master bedroom which boosts wide pine floors that are original to the home. The bedroom has a nice sized walk in closet too.
This beautiful antique bed in the Master bedroom has hand carved pine cones and will just take your breath away, but sadly does not come with the beautiful home!
This home was built in 1760~before George Washington reached his 30th Birthday!
There was a beautiful article done by a local newspaper here is a direct quote:
"To say this is a unique property is to acknowledge its place as one of the oldest homes in Taunton history. Luckily, it's been in the hands of people who appreciate this role, and have restored the building and its grounds with loving care. Each of its rooms is distinctive in itself. Together, they translate into a piece of colonial history that has survived quite attractively for nearly 250 years."
