My small bed of sweet annie....I put it here so I could leave some plants to go to seed in the fall and not disturb it. I am hoping that I will have more next year.

Summer Days
I have been trying to get out in the garden early on the hot summer days. The hosta garden is doing well. I love the view of it from my kitchen window and there is really no work to it now that it is established.

Next week I have to go into Boston for Federal Grand Jury duty. One I hate going into the city myself, two if I take time off I would love a vacation not jury duty....I seem to get called every three years, like clockwork. No cell phones allowed in court so I will need to leave my cell at home, no electronic devices, does that mean my kindle? We are having central air put in and they start on Monday....I won't be home, oh yuk! I have closets to empty...can you spell anxiety? I will have to leave home about 6:30 AM. So if you don't hear from me you all will know where I am.

So sorry you have jury duty...it is painful. That is what we get for being good citizens!!
Your garden is so pretty and you are right about the Hosta. Once they are established it sure decreases weeding...I love my bed of hosta and ferns.

Beatiful gardens. I live in PA, my husband gets called every three years as well for jury duty. I have been called once, go figure.
What beautiful gardens you have!!! All laid out perfectly. I tried to grow some sweet annie but it didn't come up this year so now it's almost to late to try again. Hopefully next I can get it to grow!
Enjoy the weekend!

Your have a beautiful yard. Everything is so neat! It's been so hot, I've not been out in the garden as much as I'd like-needs some trimming and a bit of weeding!
Thanks so much for sharing over here at Cottage Flora Thursday's! I love your mature hosta garden & that daylily is so gorgeous in color! Good luck on Jury duty next week....ugh, you'll have to stock up on magazines i guess! xoox, tracie
Your garden is lovely and I especially like the lily. Jury duty is just that....a duty that is tedious.
