I'll let you in on a secret...

Today is November 1st. I am so happy to say all my Halloween decorations are packed away. I love when there is just Harvest decorations, right up until Thanksgiving. This morning before work I grabbed a couple of plastic tubs and went from room to room picking out the Halloween stuff and putting it away. I put all jack o lanterns and witches and ghosts into the attic. They joined the many items I never brought out this year.

My little secret is that my oldest child loves, loves, loves Halloween. It has always been his favorite holiday. He came over last night and greeted Trick or Treaters in his Frankenstein costume. He used to decorate like crazy. fog machine , scary stuff, you name it. Well he decorated his house this year, but he dosen't get enough kids, so he came here. There were a few disappointed kiddo's that the porch wasn't all done up. I was quite content. I enjoy it  a bit pared down. the other half of the secret is I could live with out Halloween. I just don't remember it being a big deal when I was a kid...it seems to have grown into a big holiday. Am I just getting old? Maybe.

So here are a few photos of my "Just Harvest"

Donna, One of my boys loves Halloween too! He has several tombstones and skulls he likes to decorate with. Wonder how he will be when he is your son's age? Love your stacked pumpkins. ~Ann

Well, I am not a huge Halloween fan and this year didn't do any decor. So I am more than ready for just Fall. YOur decor is stunning. So pretty and I love the outdoor urn and pumpkins. Hugs, Marty

Oh I am with you Donna, I love just the "Harvest" look. So many people go from Halloween right to Christmas, but I always look forward to Thanksgiving. I have a few sets of Pilgrims that I set out with the dried flowers, wheat, and squash, along with the bittersweet. It just says fall to me. And I am not ready for winter. I love all of your pics, your home is so comfy looking. Thanks for sharing with us. Blessings ~Sara

Halloween is fun for the kids. Adults? UUUhhhh.....
Anyway, if I weren't toting around 3 little super excited ones, I probably wouldn't have anything to do with it either besides maybe a few prim decorations. -Steph-

Hi Donna! Thanks for your nice comment on my clock! : ) I am kind of obligated to decorate for Halloween as it is my birthday. Although, one of the nice things is that you can mix your Fall and Halloween stuff, then just take away the Halloween stuff and you are still set for the season. You have a beautiful blog ~ I am your newest follower!
