Continued~ part 3

Let me take you into this wonderful home. It was built in 1988. Not that you would believe it. It feels like an antique home. The perfect spot for a Gentleman's farm. The first time I came to this home I was struck by how tranquil it was, not just the home the whole setting. The minute I stepped through the door I fell in love.  I know I showed this door before, but it was the first thing I saw and I love it so much. It opens to a small powder room. There are many period features in the home. It all creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The owners love their home and you can tell how much of themselves they put into creating this paradise.

This is the back entry to the home the door at the end leads to the three car garage with large game room above. The game room has a kitchenette and it's own bathroom. What a beautiful guest suite or space for an extended family.

I love, love love, her crocks by the back door.

Talk about attention to detail. The woodwork through the home is stunning.

From the fireplaces, the raised panels and the built ins the quality shows everywhere you look. I love this office which looks out over the back and side yards.
This is the front stairway....did I mention there is a rear stairway off of the kitchen too?

A little peek of the rear stairway~

To be continued...once again

Continued~part 2

Today let me take you around the outside for a bit. You see the pretty garden from the kitchen and the brick patio.

Looking towards the front you see one of the many stonewalls.

The stone wall at the entrance of the long driveway. The underground utilities keep the views pristine.

The back entry to the home~

The back of the home~

The 28' x 64' barn. Just imagine what you could do with this, Horses? Landscaping equipment? Sheep? Art studio? Antiques? Cars? What would you do with this space?

The Owner moved this old out house here. The charm of this is priceless. It sits among the many fruit and chestnut trees. Again surrounded by the beautiful stonewalls.

So would you like to come inside this home? not the outhouse....

Come with me while I share my work...

This is a home I currently have listed for sale in Middleboro, MA. The homestead sits on just over eight acres of beautifully treed land. The reproduction Saltbox home is surrounded stonewalls and fruit trees. As you pass down the meandering driveway and come upon the home you are greeted by the slabs of granite that are the steps to brick walk ways. The home was built with attention to detail and the fine workmanship shines through out the home.

This antique door was fitted to the powder room and there is another on the laundry room. They took my breath away. All the other doors in the home have been handmade of Poplar wood for better results in staining. They have thumb latches~

There are wide pine floors through out the home, Even in the finished basement and the game room above the three car garage.

The old red kitchen has three sets of french doors, a beamed cathedral ceiling, a convection stove, honed granite counters and a stunning view!

Welcome to 2015

I am quite happy that we are into January of 2015. Funny, but the weather has been so unusual this year. No snow for Christmas and balmy weather for sure. Yesterday was 59 degrees out. I had packed up all my Christmas decorations, vacuumed and dusted. Saturday was a quiet day and then by Sunday hubby wanted to get out for a ride. I have had a nostalgic week, missing my Mom and Step dad and my grey kitty....just a bit blue. So we took a ride down to Cape Cod. My Mom was in West Barnstable and now there isn't much reason to head that way. I love to travel Rt 6A. Poke in the little shops and Antique shops. Now it has been a couple of years, but I was so disappointed at how many shops had closed, shops that had been there for years. Lots of them gone. The For Sale signs were everywhere too. Many homes, beautiful old homes for sale. I don't know what all this means, but it made me sad to see the changes. We stopped and had a bite to eat and headed home. Home Sweet Home!
Here are three of our Grands standing by the pond enjoying yet another day. This makes me happy.

I love looking out my kitchen window to watch the birds at the feeders. This also makes me happy. I am the most content when I am at home in my nest. Curled up in front of the fire with a good book, my kitty in my lap. A pot of soup simmering on the stove and a loaf of crusty bread. What more could a girl want?

A little Christmas

Welcome to The Country Nest at Christmas! We have been so lucky no snow yet, lots of rain which the gardens and shrubs need to survive the long New England weather.
I didn't put out at least half of my decorations this year. I wanted to simplify this year. Some greens and my favorite things. My Arnett's Santas make me smile whenever I look at them. I have collected a few over the years and do have my favorites.

So come on in~my usual wreath at the back door~

 Some crocks with greens.
This is my newest Santa. I love his face and he has a gingerbread man so he is in the kitchen.
My Christmas cactus is in bloom, but it blooms at Easter too.
This is a favorite. I love Santa in his union suit with his bid belly. Each face is a bit different and I love his. Don't you too?

I got this one with the flag when my son was deployed. I thought it suited at the time. The little felted reindeers I have had for years.

Waiting for snow

My reindeer at the back door. Love his natural look. I am not into blowups or plastic stuff, but I did do some when the kids were young.
I hope you are all almost ready for the holiday. I finished my gift shopping yesterday. Now I need to get it wrapped and the start baking. I have a few projects I would like to do too. Then meal shopping and getting ready for the family to arrive!!
What do you have left to do?  Let me know.
Put on some Christmas music and enjoy.
